Exhibitions
5 April 2005 - 31 December 2012
Programme Aims The exhibitions programme is carefully researched and developed through the in-house programming team, in dialogue with external individuals and organisations where appropriate. The Gallery is committed to exhibiting a broad range of photographic work, with an emphasis on new developments in the medium, new technologies and current debates around photography and society. We are particularly interested in work that looks beyond photography's traditional forms towards innovative ways of using the medium and extending its vocabulary, and favour work that has a strong thematic basis, that deals with contemporary issues - whether social or aesthetic - or that reassesses historical themes and perspectives. The Photographers' Gallery does not accept any unsolicited proposals for exhibitions, and is unable to respond to submissions on an individual basis. Unfortunately, the Gallery cannot guarantee to return any material sent in. Practitioners who are seeking feedback about their work, may be interested to know that we offer a series of events entitled 'Folio Forum' which provide an opportunity for individuals to show and discuss their work and practice with a professional in a public forum.
